Tyr, the Norse god of war, justice and law, is represented by the rune 'Tiwaz'. He is best known for losing his hand / arm to the mighty wolf 'Fenrir' as a show of faith that the chains that would bind Fenrir were not unbreakable and so his sacrifice is thought to represent law and justice.
